Ex-Chess Hustler makes World Series of Poker Final Table

This year’s WSOP is down to its final 9 contestants at its coveted Final Table. Among them this year is Ylon Schwartz. Mr. Schwartz is unique because he used to play chess for a living in Washington Square Park in New York City hustling people at blitz chess. Apparently he has come upon better times after the Poker boom, and is poised to make quite a bit of money.

The above interview with him is pretty interesting….he strikes me as a pretty strange guy, which is definitely not out of the ordinary for poker OR chess players. At least there’s someone decent to root for at the final table this year.
